AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM (AEP)
It was reported that 1.02 billion people went hungry in 2009, which was the highest level global hunger ever registered, and global food security crisis is largely due to declining investments in agriculture. As the total land mass for global agriculture continues to shrink while the world’s population continues to increase, it becomes necessary to deploy advanced agronomic approaches to parts of the world with the greatest needs. In fact, food production will need to increase by roughly 50% by 2050 to continue to meet global demand.
The Institute for the Advancement of Developing Economies (IADE) Agricultural and Environment Program (AEP) is designed to provide advanced technology, research-backed solutions, and improved management practices to enhance agricultural productivity while maintaining a sustainable environment in parts of the world with the greatest needs.
